On the Budgeting page, you can create category groups and categories, just like on the Expense Categories page. These are the same expense category groups and expense categories used across the app.
Special Repayment Category Groups
There are two special category groups that are created automatically:
Credit Card Repayments
Loan Repayments
These category groups are created when you add a credit card account or a loan account:Adding Accounts
All of your credit card accounts and loan accounts are listed inside these two special category groups.
What These Category Groups Are Used For
The accounts listed under Credit Card Repayments and Loan Repayments are used to:
plan the monthly budget for repayments
track repayment activity
see the actual account balance (outstanding debt)
Budgeting Repayments
When you set a value in the Budget column for a credit card or loan account, you’re defining the planned repayment amount for the selected month.
When you make a repayment (by transferring money from your checking account to a credit card or loan account), the repaid amount appears in the Spent column.
Important Note About Total Spent
By default, credit card and loan repayments are not included in Total Spent on the Budgeting page.
This is because repayments are treated as transfers between your own accounts, not as real expenses.
If you prefer to include repayments in Total Spent, you can change this behavior in Settings:Settings
